Strength and Conditioning Programs

Total Soccer 90 - Skills and Fitness Program

A totally unique and comprehensive training program for soccer players (boys and girls, grades 5-12). Total Soccer 90 includes:

  • 90 minute long training sessions take place at HealthWorks - Rt. 9 in Chestnut Hill
  • Players will work on Ball Control Skills with CHSC Coach in the first 30 minutes of each session
  • Remaining 60 minutes of each session will be dedicated to Strength, Conditioning and Injury Prevention Training with Optimal Fit Strength and Conditioning Coach
  • Mobility Screening at onset of program (to create an individualized fitness plan) with Optimal Fit - Physical Therapist 
  • Program runs for 10 weeks (Fall, Winter and Spring Sessions)
  • 5th and 6th Grade Beginner Program is Winter Only
  • Players can choose to train 1 or 2 times/week

Spring 2018 Grades 7-12 - Co-Ed 3:30-5pm M, T, W, TH, F 4/2 through 6/4 ***
*No class on Columbus Day - 11/13 make up
**No class during Feb Break
***No class on Memorial Day - 6/11 make up

Registration

Players have two Registration options:

  1. Ten weeks with One training session/week - $350.00
  2. Ten weeks with Two training sessions/week - $600.00

Program Directors

Susan Laughlin, MPT - Optimal Fit

Susan is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and has over 20 years of clinical experience.  She specializes in manual therapy to complement her orthopedic clinical skills in the areas of:

  • sports medicine
  • post-surgical rehabilitation
  • extremity and spine mobilization
  • myofascial release
  • muscle energy
  • spinal stabilization
  • pelvic floor and womens health
  • balance
  • low back pain
  • sacroilliac dysfunction

Rob Sprague, MPT – CHSC

Rob Sprague is the Director of the Chestnut Hill Soccer Club. Rob has been the Brookline Soccer Club’s Director of Coaching since 2003.  He is the Girls Varsity Head Coach at Brookline High School (since 2014) and was a three time GU17 Head Coach for Massachusetts ODP.  Coach Sprague was the Eastern Mass. Girls  Coaches Association's Coach of the Year in 2016. 

Coach Sprague holds USSF “B” and “C” Licenses.

Rob earned a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University and has over 10 years of experience specializing in Pediatrics.

Why Total Soccer 90?

The perfect program for players looking  to improve their game outside of their weekly team practices . With Total Soccer 90, players will learn and practice advanced ball control exercises and build their bodies through cutting edge fitness routines. Players will develop new levels of technical skills and confidence. Players will build up their bodies to be quicker, faster, stronger, more balanced and less susceptible to injuries. The Mobility Screening that is included with the program helps player's target specific areas of weakness in the training sessions.
